Article Writing Strategy

Article Writing Strategy

You see Article Marketing is very much a numbers game. The goal is to drive as much traffic as possible to your website as quickly as possible. Every article you submit is a new stream of targeted traffic that you have opened for free that will last ad infinitum.

The 5 secrets to making a killing online with article marketing are as follows;

1. Adopt a set routine and stick to it no matter what
This is perhaps the most over looked and most misunderstood element in the whole Article Marketing equation. You need to develop a set article marketing routine and stick to that routine religiously each and every say. For me I dedicate my first hour every morning to article writing and submission. I know as soon as the clock strikes 7am that I am at the PC busy writing my article.

We are all creatures of habit and so if you force yourself to do this for a couple of weeks each and every day it will eventually become habit and you will do it on auto pilot.

This is achieved by writing an article and then submitting it to as many article directories as possible.

2. Use self-discipline to overcome procrastination
The essence of article marketing is that it takes time and effort to produce quality articles that will drive traffic to your website. Like anything in life your output is only as good as your input in that you get out what you put in.

Perhaps the greatest obstacle to overcome is procrastination. Do not adopt the attitude ‘oh sure I’ll do it tomorrow’. This attitude will never produce results because tomorrow never comes it is always in the future.

You need to adopt my view on ‘self discipline’ i.e. ‘Do what you should do when you should do it whether you feel like it or not’.

If you adopt this principle and force yourself to stick to a routine, then you are taking action and that action will produce website traffic and sales.

3. Use proven tried and tested principles
A builder wouldn’t dare attempt to build a house without a blueprint from an architect. If he did the outcome would be disastrous. Your ‘Article Marketing’ production should be no different.

There are two ways to become an expert article marketer; 1. The Slow Way, 2. The Smart Way. The slow way is through trial and error. Try some thing, split test, measure results and keep tweaking the technique until you get the results you seek.

The smart way is by modeling the successful strategies used by other top article marketers. That is why I created ‘Article Marketing Devastation’, it is a blueprint of successful strategies used by the top Article Marketers.

Using a proven tried and tested blueprint will save you considerable time and money and maximize your sales no end.

4. Set Goals and Work to their achievement
For those of you who set goals, congratulations on occupying the top 1% of the adult population. It’s no surprise that studies revealed this top 1% are the most successful in society.

I urge you to open a Microsoft Word document dedicated to your article marketing goals and set article marketing goals using the SMART principle;
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Timely

For example my current article marketing goal is as follows;
Write two articles every week day morning at 7am, taking no longer than 1 hour and transmit these articles to 400 article directories using my automated software submission tool. This should results in an end of year total of 104,000 individual streams of traffic from 104,000 article submission.

52 weeks x 5 days per week x 400 article directories = 104,000 article submissions.

5. Track Results and tweak articles
Many article marketers adopt a ‘set and forget’ strategy i.e. once they post their articles they forget about them. This is what separates a good article marketer from a brilliant article marketer. The ‘brilliant’ article marketer will go back to their article statistics (e.g. Ezinearticles have this feature) and track which articles are performing well and which are performing poorly.

They will then tweak various elements such as the title and resource box and work to improving the click throughs. For example if your article is receiving low views relative to competitor articles then it is likely your title is not that alluring. Conversely if you are getting high views but low click throughs either your resource box is not compelling or your reader is loosing interest through your body copy.

It is critical that you adopt this testing and tracking philosophy if you want to be uber successful at article marketing.
