Today I am going to talk about a tactic I call ‘The Cliffhanger Method’.
It is a powerful way of driving targeted customers in ‘information seeking mode’ to your articles.
The Cliffhanger Method
This is a key point because people who are actively seeking information are even more likely to click on your link and visit your website.
The technique is as follows;
1. Visit http://answers.yahoo.com/ and search for questions pertaining to your article. For example, if your have an article written on ‘How To Create The Perfect Golf Swing’ then type ‘Golf Swing’ in Yahoo Answers and review the topics.
2. Reply to the topics with just the opening paragraph in your article. This is critical you want to give them a taste of the great information you offer and leave them in a state whereby they are hungry for the rest of the information. This is the essence of the ‘Cliffhanger Method’.
3. Provide a link to your article and give them a specific call to action i.e. Click on the following link to read the rest of this article.
I have used this strategy on numerous occasions and it is a great way to super charge the traffic to your articles, increase page views and maximize the possibility of your article appearing in the ‘Most Viewed EzineArticles (90 Days)’ for the category your article is associated with.
This is the key to your traffic explosion as the ‘Most Viewed EzineArticles (90 Days)’ link appears on ALL the articles in that category.
This will generate a substantial spike in your web traffic within days. This will provide you with increase site visitor, increased product sales, increased email submissions and increased expert status.
The beauty of the Cliffhanger method is that you can use it in high traffic sites other than Yahoo Answers. This could forums, blog comments and other alternatives to Yahoo Answers including;
